Child's Play Montessori School in the north end of Peterborough opened its doors in the fall of 2006. Ruth Strunz and Susan Gilchrist co-own and operate Child’s Play, which is an accessible,  community-based Montessori experience for 2½ to 6 year old children.  Child’s Play offers your family a gentle introduction to school, starting with our half-day program, three days a week.

Our Montessori classroom operates in a manner which emulates the natural dynamics of a family, with the more experienced children supporting and encouraging the younger ones. Throughout their school day, your child will work with a variety of educational materials, carefully designed to celebrate their natural curiosity and foster the love of learning. Our curriculum also features social skills, French, music and art.

At the conclusion of their Montessori Program, our young graduates are well prepared, both socially and academically, to move into Grade 1 at their subsequent school.
